This elegant extraordinary addition features a cocktail bar, wine cellar, and theater room. 

Tatcor had the privilege of transforming a charming Cape Cod home by expanding the kitchen into a first floor addition that connects to a covered porch and garage. Above the first floor is a second story addition housing the bedroom suite, including an elegant bathroom tucked in the typical slanted Cape Cod roofline.

This addition seamlessly fits into the original design of this beautiful Victorian home. It features a mudroom with custom dog crates, living room, full bathroom, and Cedar screened in porch and deck. The living room hosts a gorgeous fireplace with Morovian handmade tiles surrounding the fireplace with a custom black walnut trim. The black walnut trim is found throughout the rest of the space including within the pocket doors and numerous windows. Antique cast-iron radiators, beautiful hardwood flooring, and built-in wall shelving help keep up the traditional feel of the space.

This 4,500 square ft home boasts abundant natural light, enhanced by large bay windows, custom lighting, and gleaming hardwood floors throughout. The open living room features floor-to-ceiling white paneling surrounding a fireplace with a hardwood mantel, built-in shelving, and a black chandelier. The kitchen and dining area include white custom cabinetry, a large island with granite countertops, a built-in oven, and a window seat under the bay window. The master bathroom offers a luxurious double vanity, freestanding tub, and custom gray granite-tiled shower. Additional highlights include built-in shelving, functional storage solutions, and a finished basement with a small bar, cork flooring, and recessed lighting.

This addition is a natural extension of the home’s original structure and colonial style. As part of the project, we expanded the garage to allow for ample two-car storage. This entailed pouring a new concrete slab ready for a smooth, epoxy finish. From the garage, you have access to a convenient mudroom hallway that leads to an expanded kitchen seating area with sliding glass doors to the backyard. This new, enlarged seating area connects to a great room that sits under a white vaulted ceiling with recessed lighting. The space is further brightened by a mulled panel of four windows. Most impressively, the room features a dual-sided, wood-burning fireplace with a chimney, custom wood mantel and slate hearth tile. To the right of the fireplace is custom wood storage and shelving. The great room then leads to a screened-in porch and pressure treated deck covered by a vaulted pine ceiling painted in Sherwin Williams Foggy Day with collar tie beams stained with Minwax Dark Walnut. From the porch, visitors can also enjoy the two-sided fireplace, which is adorned by ledger stone panels from floor to ceiling – the perfect hang-out spot for all seasons!

Additionally, we built a separation wall for the client’s office, including custom glass panel double pocket doors with tailor-made molding to match the existing detail of the house.
