We had the opportunity to work on an exciting kitchen remodeling project in Chester County, PA in a neighborhood that we lived in before taking on our first fixer upper and eventual forever home. It was exciting to be part of such a tight knit community and to watch our children grow up together. They went to the same schools, played on the same sports teams, often times with their parents as coaches, slept over at each other's homes, and ultimately became lifelong friends. Now that many of our children are off to college or starting families of their own, the parents of this neighborhood have started preparing for the next chapter of their lives. Many of the homes in this neighborhood were built similarly, both in size and shape, without much room for deviation, and with that, many families have begun remodeling their homes to better suit their needs for this next phase of their lives. If you're anything like me, I look forward to the days when my children come back home to visit, but I get even more excited when I know they're bringing grandchildren, because along with that comes great big family meals, stories of worldly travels, home videos, holiday traditions, and a ton of love and laughter. This country kitchen is a perfect example of how one family took a very ordinary kitchen and turned it into an extraordinary space for hosting friends and family during those precious moments. We incorporated a shiplap wall, brick backsplash with stacked cabinets above, a butcher block island top, fire clay farm sink, drop-in stovetop, and did I mention an open floor layout? Join me by watching the video below as I take you on a quick tour of the various features of their new space!
